Daisy's Bright Light
Daisy 07/07/83 – 11/00
Daisy was born July 7, 1983. She was a beautiful baby with red hair and a sweet smile. We found out that Daisy had a heart condition when she was four years old, but that didn’t stop her. She was full of life.
When Daisy was 10 years old, she enrolled in the Lanham Boys and Girls Club. She always wanted to be a cheerleader and they competed at the University of Maryland and won first place! Daisy was so happy. The following year she could not enroll because she had her first unexpected surgery when she was 11. She recovered fine and after the surgery looked stronger and gained some weight. She was very skinny.
Daisy was well known and liked at school. She made a lot of friends and the teachers loved her. She was a very happy, caring, humanitarian, smart, outgoing child and she loved to participate in school events. Daisy was going to graduate with the class of 2001. She loved to draw and wanted to study art and photography, but her passion was to become a professional photographer.
Daisy belonged to the Spanish Honor Society in which she used to go to other schools in the evening to teach adults about our Hispanic culture, to teach them how to dance salsa and meringue. She was so proud of her Hispanic heritage.
Daisy was our 2nd child. She has two brothers and a sister which she used to tease but loved them with all her heart.
On September 9, 2000 we found out she needed another surgery. Daisy was 17 years old. She was very scared but knew she needed the surgery. Daisy knew I was an organ donor, but she never mentioned how she felt about it. Knowing her as I do, I know she would approve. She was very giving and had a very warm heart so I know that she approved of our decision to donate her organs to help someone in need of a transplant. |
